Staying fit and healthy

We all know how good we feel when we eat nutritious food and do regular training. Our bodies work better when they get exercise and people who cut down on their intake of sugar and harmful fats definitely become healthier – not to mention how smoking, alcohol and snuff influences us and our environment.
Nevertheless, it can be difficult to persuade yourself to break with unhealthy habits and adopt a healthier lifestyle.

For those working on ships it can be particularly difficult since you have no choice apart from the training facilities onboard and food served in the mess. But it is possible to live a healthy life even at sea, and we hope that you can find a source of inspiration in the texts here.
Another organisation that works actively with improving seamen’s health is the Seaman’s Service. Visit their website www.seatime.se and read more about what they have to offer.
