A crewman removed a cooling water hose on a heater to empty the system on a main engine. When the hose came off, the hot water ran onto his hand and caused second degree burns. The crewman had moved the hose away after it was loosened, but did not think that water could also come from the hole in the heater. The incident resulted in the man taking sick leave.
