There was a total of 82 accidents involving fatalities in Swedish workplaces from 2018 to the first half of 2019, and the transport sector is one of the hardest hit. An analysis by the Swedish Work Environment Authority shows this alarming tendency. The most common causes of fatal accidents are falls from heights, work with machines and crushing injuries. Fatal accidents often involve deviations from common procedures and safety measures have either been poor or inadequate.
