On 18 May, the Mercantile Marine Foundation handed out prizes for innovative and resourceful seamen for the 40th time. This year’s sports award went to master Lars Backlund and his crew on the M/V Evinco. Three search and rescue prizes of SEK 20,000 were awarded to the crew of the Tor Viking II, able seaman Jonas Laveryd on Destination Gotland and the crew of the naval ship HMS Gladan. The prize day was held at Fotografiska, the photography museum in Stockholm.
