On 1 June this year, all orange chemical signs will be replaced with white signs. The decision was taken several years ago, but both variants have been approved for a transitional period. The change of chemical signs is a harmonisation with the United Nations regulations and will be implemented throughout the EU as a result of a new minimum directive. At the same time, the Work Environment Authority’s regulation on thermosetting plastics will be discontinued and incorporated into the regulations on handling of chemicals.
