Both the physical and the psycho-social work environment affects people’s decision to retire before the age of 65. A new compilation of information ordered by the Work Environment Authority indicates the above. Factors that increase the risk of people leaving their working life early include stress, lack of social support, high noise levels and monotonous tasks. Early retirement is most common in service occupations.
