This year’s SAN prize goes to a successful duo who, through long-term and determined work, have managed to turn around a rather difficult personnel situation on the ship where they both work into something positive and forward-looking.
The two of them have regularly sorted out issues that were important to the ship’s crew and created a more modern approach to health and safety on board. Among other things they have introduced a systematic approach to urgent issues in the ship’s safety committee with action plans, measures and follow-up work.
One of the prize winners’ managers also underlined their “incredible ability” to create good relations between the union and the company’s shore-based organization, which in the long run makes things easier for all onboard employees.
